The Biggest Loser

by hereigoagain @ 23/12/2006 - 11:33:46 am

Merry Christmas everyone. Have a really good one and don't eat and drink too much.

Got a few quiet minutes to blog while everyones out, so this will probably be my last blog before Christmas.

I've watched "The Biggest Loser" for a few years, both the English and the American ones, and I've always watched with envy, wishing I could be them. This year as I watched the final I turned to my husband and said "Oh my God I did it. I am like them. This year I'm not wishing I was them. I've done it" and in that moment it suddenly hit me how much weight I've lost over the last few months. I'm so happy and healthy now I could understand everything they were saying and how the weight loss had changed their lives. There were two men in the final and one woman. I always thought she was gorgeous from the beginning, but at the final she looked absolutely amazing. I told my husband that whatever weight she weighed in at I was having for my new goal weight. That weight was 9 stone 9lbs. So for now I'm seriously thinking about that target. I still want to hit my original target of 12 stone first, so I'm not changing my tracker just yet :))

Most of my clothes now are size 16 or 14 (yes 14!!!!). Even with the loose skin on my arms (I'll explain about that in another blog) I can still get into 16's easily. I'm still driving my husband mad though because I still keep picking up size 18's. I convincd myself that the size 16 etc (or whatever smaller size I'm in) is wrongly sized and is really a size bigger!!! I went to the market yesterday and was so tempted to buy a size 18 jeans (everyone says market sizes are smaller) but I forced myself to buy a 16 and they looked very small. Even when I was pulling them up my legs I thought "they're never going to fit", but they did, EASILY and with room to spare :)

So that's going to keep me on the straight and narrow over Christmas. My counsellor said to me last night "do this, do that etc. don't go too mad" then she looked at me and said "I know you won't will you. I don't know why I'm telling you" :))

I'm having a day off Christmas day. I'm planning on having a small glass of Baileys (not the large bottle I usually drink), a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and a rum truffle (yes just the one). I've warned hubby not to let me stretch out the one day for another day etc. I've always had a problem with moderation :))

Anyway hope you all have a good one. See you after Christmas.

p.s. I lost 7lbs last night, so I'm way under 14 stone for Christmas :D :D :D

That's so great :)

You definitely deserve the day off for Christmas itself but it's a good idea to say it's just for that one day... I know how easy it is to misbehave :D

What a fantastic year you've had - well done you

Merry Christmas!

well unfortunatley it turned into two days. But I suppose its better than the usual two weeks of overindulgence. Don't think I've done too much damage.

Happy New Year

Like you say, 2 days is better than 2 weeks :)

after all your hard work this year, you deserve a day off to spoil yourself a little and i know you won't go too mad with the food and drink.
you've done wonderfully well so i have to ask,
what will your New Years Resolution be for 2007?

Oh making resolutions is a dangerous thing. I've never made one :)) I can't really think of one for this year either. I'm open to suggestions :))

i never make resolutions either,
too much of a let-down if/when you fail :(
i think my only sensible suggestion would be to carry on exactly as you have been!

Well done you! You deserve a nice Christmas Day. I for one know you will reach your target and carry on successfully into the 9 - 10 stone region :)

Well done on the weight loss last week, a good xmas boost

Hope you had a good xmas.

A quote in my diary says "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels" That's my motto for this year!

Had a lovely Christmas. hope you did too.

As for that quote I hadn't quite convinced myself before, especially when faced with Thorntons Rum Truffles :)) but now I know that it is actually true ;)

Hi
I only found your blog yesterday and read it right through. I have to say that it is truly inspirational and you should feel very very proud of yourself. The pictures of you in a dress were totally amazing - you look like another woman completely and so much happier now! I'm just starting out - I've lost a stone and have another 5 to lose and it seems like such a big target but you've shown how to do it - just bit by bit, keeping on. Fantastic!
Best wishes
Hazel

Thanks Hazel. Thats a heck of a read :))

Keep on - you will do it. Every week a couple of pounds keep dropping of and soon the stones are flying by.

Keep me updated.

I've made an appointment to see a Cambridge consultant on Tuesday, I'mm approx 22 stones and have got approx 9 stones to lose.
I intend to do a similar blog to yours as I think it's helped you through the process.

I'd like to thank you for taking time to write down all your feelings and effects the diet process has taken.Very well done.
I think it will give me and others the confidence to get through this, heres looking forward towards a thinner 2007.

Hi Paul. Congratulations. You will definitely not regret it. Men also have faster losses so you will be disappearing in no time :)

Yes the blog has definitely helped. I get so much encouragement from everyone here it really keeps me going.

Let me know how you get on and let me have your blog address when you start.

Good Luck

Sarah
