Old Habits Die Hard

by hereigoagain @ 16/04/2007 - 03:51:39 pm

I know I'm obsessed - I just typed "Diet" instead of "Die" for the title :))

On Friday my family always have a takeaway, and I somehow managed to convince myself (and my hubby) that if I had a chicken kebab, with salad, it would add up to the same as my chicken portion, carb portion and salad that I have for my 1000kcal evening meal.

However, I was a good girl (I can be you know!!) and told him not to bother. Had cottage cheese, tuna and sald with balsamic vinegar instead. But I was sooooooo tempted !!! >:-[ >:-[

I have to realise that I'm going to have to be careful for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, just because I managed to lose weight easily doesn't mean that it's going to stay off so easily. Especially when that naughty little voice in my head starts up again 8| Any ideas how to get rid of her??? :D

i think its normal to be afraid of the temptation, but in a few months when you are used to eating again, you wont worry:)

its easy to see when you gain some pounds, and you can act quickly so even if you gave kebabs for a whole week, you can return to the weight you would like to be:)

(belive me!!)

the main thing is to keep it in the front of your mind,
keeping weight off is supposed to be harder than losing it but i know if anyone can do it, you can! x

You're going to have to gradually feel your way on this one: an occasional kebab followed by a day of "penance"; a few days of rigorous dieting rewarded by a kebab; a salad with a share of someone else's kebab just to say you've tasted it; a discovery that a kebab tastes so rich and fatty that you wouldn't ever want another - there are various scenarios. This time you chose the tuna route...

Yep it's just the choices we make. I have to make sure I make the right ones from now on.

in defence of kebabs, obviously, chicken is ok anyway and as it should be grilled thats not a problem, loads of salad and the yogurt dressing, and for doner, well, all the fat actually drains away so again it should, if done properly, be a relatively low fat take-away and if you have chilli sauce instead of yogurt i guess thats even less fat. come round to mine and i will sort you out.....
